About Shane
Hi, I’m Shane—the person behind SirSoft.io. I own, build, and maintain every program you’ll find on this site.
I’ve worked with computers since 1995. My main focus has always been Microsoft Windows. It’s the operating system I learned first, and I’ve stuck with it because it’s what I know best.
That said, I also appreciate macOS and Linux. In fact, I plan to start developing for both platforms soon. Learning new systems keeps me sharp and helps me create better software overall.
Earlier in my career, I worked with Tweaking.com and PcWinTech.com. Those experiences taught me the value of high standards and user-focused design. Because of that, I’ve carried those principles into everything I do here.
I live in the United States, so please consider time zones when reaching out. As a father of five, I stay busy—no doubt! Even so, I make time for support, updates, and ongoing improvements.

My answer? “To make it better.”
If no one built alternatives, we’d all be stuck with just one option. For example, there would be only one browser, one antivirus, or one office suite. That would limit progress—and limit user choice.
